WHY WAX?
Skin that has been waxed is silky, hairless, and touchable. In essence, shaving is just shaving the hair off at the skin’s surface. Ingrown hairs, razor burn, discoloration, itching regrowth, etc. can all be brought on by razor use. These problems are greatly reduced or resolved by waxing. Also, waxing lasts longer! When you receive a Brazilian, your skin is clean and hair-free for a good two weeks; but, when you shave, you develop stubble and must shave again within a few days. When the hair grows back, it is finer, softer, and less irritating or uncomfortable, thus there is no stubble. Additionally, far less hair grows back after waxing. When you wax, you compromise and occasionally eliminate the follicle’s capacity to create hair. Your hair gradually gets thinner over time.

In the area that you intend to wax, the hair needs to be 1/4 inch. Comparable to a grain of rice. It takes 3-4 weeks of not shaving/ tweezing the area for hair to grow to this length. Wax generally wont grab ahold of hair that is shorter than this. However, we can always try a test strip as some people can be waxed at less than 1/4 inch.
Yes. During a wax the pain is immediate and somewhat intense but subsides quickly. Tenderness of the area should subside within 24-48 hours. Everyone’s pain tolerance is so different so there’s no way to describe the level or rate of pain.
Brazilian, upper lip, chest (not areolas), the sides of your abdomen, hair line, and lower back. The first-time trying waxing as a hair removal method might not be pleasant no matter what part of the body. It differs from person to person. The lovely side of waxing, if kept up, you will see less and less hair growth in the area over time. Resulting in much less discomfort!
Besides making sure the hair is at least 1/4 inch, wear a loose garment. You don’t want to leave in anything tight or synthetic. For Brazilian clients, if you know you are sensitive, bring a clean cotton pair of underwear to put on afterword. Also try to exfoliate the area 24-48 hours before to ensure there are no hairs stuck just under the skin (common with shavers).
